Paris Tournament Rules

1. The Paris Ringette Association is sanctioned by the Ontario Ringette Association and therefore all ORA rules will be followed unless otherwise specified.

2.  All members of the coaching staff must sign the game sheet 30 minutes prior to game time.

3.  All teams must be prepared to go on the ice 10 minutes before their scheduled game time except for the

first games scheduled on each day.

4.  Warm up times will be limited to 2 minutes from the time the Zamboni leaves the ice and it is each team’s responsibility to have their players lined up and ready to take the ice.   These times will be strictly adhered to.

5.  All divisions’ games will consist of two 15-minute periods of stop-time.

6.  Shot Clocks will be used by the U12, U14, U16, U19 and Open divisions.

7.   Running time will be used in the second period only and will commence at any time during that period when there is a 7 goal differential.   If the goal differential goes below 7, then the game will go back to stop time. If a penalty is called during running time, then the clock stops and restarts when play commences.  The clock will stop for injuries or if a time out is called and restarts when play commences during running time.  For a final game, this will be up to the discretion of the tournament director in consultation with the coaches of the participating teams.

8.  Teams will receive 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss.

9.  Tied Games:  Please be advised we will be following ORA tie-breaking formula.  This is available for viewing at the tournament convenor’s desk.

            i)  If a round-robin game is tied at the end of regulation there will be no overtime.

ii)  tied semi-finals and finals will be decided by sudden-victory over time. A coin toss will decide which             team starts with the ring. The game will proceed to successive 15 minute periods with the first goal             winning the game.

10.  If the goal spread is 7 or greater, additional goals will be recorded on the game sheet but not posted on the scoreboard.

11.  Grievances and Protest:  No protests or grievances will be considered regarding an official’s on ice judgement or application of the rules.  Questions concerning rule interpretation can be directed to the tournament Referee-In-Chief.

12.  Paris Ringette will not tolerate unsportsmanlike conduct from spectators or coaches.   In the event that there is such conduct, the officials, tournament convenor and or facility staff will ask this person or persons to leave the playing area.  If the person refuses to leave after a reasonable period of time, the game will be called and the team associated with the person will forfeit the game.

13.  All schedules may be subject to change. In the unlikely event of a change the organizers will

make efforts to advise the affected parties.  Please check at the convenor’s table for any such schedule changes.

14.  Dressing rooms must be vacated within 30 minutes of leaving ice.  Room keys can be picked up from the Arena information desk.

15.  Paris Ringette has implemented a zero tolerance policy for alcohol on arena property.
